Before you begin, please read the following carefully.
For all K–12 school presentations, NAHT requires a minimum of three separate presentations, delivered in this specific order:
1. Faculty Presentation (First)
We present to school faculty and staff first. During this session, we will ask the school to designate one male and one female point person who will be present during the student presentation and prepared to step in if a student comes forward with a disclosure.
A girl abused by a male coach may never walk up to a male counselor — but she might find the courage to speak to a woman. A boy exploited by a female authority figure may never approach a woman — but he might open up to a man he trusts. Both a male and female point person must be available to remove that barrier for all students, regardless of the gender of the abuser.
2. Parent Presentation (Second)
We present to parents before we speak to students. This ensures parents are equipped with the awareness, language, and response tools they need before their children hear the material.
3. Student Presentation (Third)
Only after faculty and parents have been prepared do we present to students.
This structure exists to protect students and ensure that every adult around them — at school and at home — knows what to look for and how to respond if a young person comes forward.
You will need to provide preferred dates for each of these three presentations in the form. If you need to gather this information first, you can come back to this form at any time.
I understand and acknowledge the 3-presentation requirement for K–12 schools.
